Keto Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Chocolate is a performance-enhancing substance. It releases happiness neurochemicals in your brain to improve your mood and reduces your appetite to help you lose fat. Polyphenols in chocolate can help reduce inflammation in your body and feed healthy gut bacteria to improve your digestion.

This keto chocolate mousse is packed with nutrients and healthy fats to give you clean energy and focus, rather than sapping your performance with sugar. You can easily make this for one person or double (or triple!) the recipe for a whole crowd. No one will ever guess you used avocados to create its creamy, velvety texture. Add nutrient-dense toppings like toasted coconut, sea salt, or chocolate shavings for texture and even more flavor!

Keto Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Prep Time: 15 min.
Total Time: 45 min.
Makes: 3 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 large, ripe avocado (chilled)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Bulletproof Collagen Protein
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup full-fat coconut milk 
  • Stevia or xylitol to taste

Instructions:

  1. Chill ripe avocado for 1-2 hours prior. This step assures the blender stays cool, which helps maintain the temperature of your dessert just in case you want to consume it immediately.
  2. Add avocado to your blender, along with chocolate and protein powders, followed by the coconut milk.
  3. Add sweetener of choice (optional).
  4. Put the lid on and blend for 10 seconds then rest for 10 seconds in intervals until mousse reaches silky consistency. Do not blend your collagen protein on high, as the protein structures are delicate and should be mixed with care.
  5. Transfer to bowls and add your favorite toppings!
