At Bulletproof, we only use scientifically proven methods for ingredient and finished product testing.

We choose ingredients and dosages for our products based on the latest research published in peer-review journals. From there we test for efficacy. We work closely with third party labs to test our products for potency and verify that any actives in our products are at the level needed for efficacy.

Additionally, we work closely with accredited third-party labs for all product safety and quality testing. We do this to validate that all our products are aligned with FDA regulations for purity, strength and composition.

Coffee

Although it seems simple, an ingredient like coffee holds surprising complexity when it comes to sourcing and handling. Even a single-ingredient product like coffee requires meticulous attention to detail to deliver a premium cup.

One potential area for concern with coffee is the growth of mold on coffee beans. To ensure the highest quality and safety, we subject every shipment of our sustainably sourced green coffee beans to rigorous testing. Our comprehensive testing protocols target mold toxins.

In addition to mold, we also focus on the detection of heavy metals in our coffee. We screen for these contaminants to assure you that every cup of coffee you enjoy from us meets our stringent standards for purity and safety.

Collagen

Each batch of our collagen undergoes dedicated testing procedures to identify heavy metals. We also analyze protein content and screen for pathogens, assuring you of a safe and effective collagen supplement.

Supplements

The ingredients in our supplements go through four layers of quality testing. The first is testing for identity to ensure that all ingredients are present and not diluted. Next is testing for purity to ensure the product is safe from harmful contaminants. The third is strength testing to ensure that the product contains the right amount of active ingredients, as declared on the label. Finally, composition testing ensures that the supplement meets all the label specifications. These testing procedures ensure that our supplements are accurately labelled, effective and safe.

For unbiased and accurate results, we rely on a variety of accredited third-party labs. We work with these labs based on their expertise and suitability for running specific test methods. This approach allows us to leverage the capabilities of various accredited laboratories.

We care about where our ingredients come from, which is why we take sourcing seriously. We want you to trust what is inside our products.

We go the extra mile to source our coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. These farms use sustainable practices that protect workers’ rights, ensure fair wages, and take care of the environment.

Additionally, our specialists meet the high standards set by the Specialty Coffee Association. Highly trained specialists from the Coffee Quality Institute use a standardized template for evaluating coffee beans and assessing taste. Each batch of roasted coffee is carefully reviewed by experts to make sure it meets Bulletproof standards.

Our collagen is derived from grass-fed and pasture-raised cows that are free from added hormones and antibiotics. These cows are inspected by a local veterinarian official to ensure they’re safe for consumption. We contribute to a more sustainable process by utilizing the byproducts of the meat industry that would otherwise go to waste.

In addition to working with accredited third-party labs for all product safety and quality testing, we partner with suppliers and co-manufacturers that follow FDA standards. We require our partners to submit to a thorough quality assurance process either conducted by our team or an accredited third party.
