Stone-Smashed Guacamole with Radish and Jicama

Start to Finish: 10 minutes

  • 1 jicama
  • 2 radishes
  • 2-3 avocados
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ bunch cilantro
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp. hot sauce (or 2 hot sauce packets)

  1. Prep your veggie chips: Slice radish into coins, thick enough to dip into your guac. Slice jicama into sticks. (New to jicama? Watch this video.) Set aside.
  2. Chop cilantro. Cut lime into wedges. Open avocados. Remove and discard the pits.
  3. Scoop avocado flesh into a bowl. Add cilantro, garlic powder, salt, hot sauce and lime juice to taste.
  4. Smash together using a (clean) stone, fork or spoon. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  5. Let sit for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld — if you can wait that long.
  6. Dip jicama and radish slices into guacamole. Enjoy!

Makes: 2-4 servings
