Why Global Iced Coffee is Having a Moment
We live in an age where anyone, anywhere has the ability to share what they’re up to at any time of day with the press of a button. Viral TikTok food trends and Instagram reels have made it easy for anyone to learn and share recipes, history and popular trends of the food world.
With the rise of the “clean eating” trend, toxic processed food scares and the microplastic crisis in America, more people are taking traditional recipes and revamping them with modern day trends and techniques that appeal to a more health-focused audience.
We decided to jump in and create our own recipes inspired by these global traditions with functional, health focused products that will leave your body feeling full and fueled.
Vietnamese Iced Protein Coffee
Vietnamese iced coffee, or Cà Phê S?a ?á, simply translates to “coffee, milk, ice,” and is traditionally made by brewing a small amount extremely potent coffee over sweetened condensed milk.
A small metal device called a phin filter is used with a very fine mesh that brews slowly, giving the coffee a strong, rich flavor. Sweetened condensed milk was originally used in this drink because of the limited availability of fresh milk during the early days of dairy farming in the late 1850’s. This thick, sweet syrupy milk gives the coffee a thick, creamy and caramel-like sweetness.
It has become popular in the United States with the rise of bubble tea and is found in cafés, Thai and Vietnamese restaurants and coffee shops.
We took this traditional recipe and made our own version using our Instant protein coffee which is highly caffeinated and protein-packed, keeping you energized for longer.

Modern Mazagran (Cold Brew Citrus Tonic)
You never typically hear the phrase “when life gives you lemons, make some coffee!” unless you’re in Portugal. The drink originated in Algeria in 1840’s when French soldiers running low on supplies started adding sweetened cold water to their coffee. The drink eventually made its way back to Europe and became popular in Portugal over time.
Some versions are made with ingredients like mint, espresso, rum and some are even made with sparkling water. People typically enjoy this drink on a hot summer day alongside a traditional Portuguese egg custard called Pastel de Nata.
We created a modern spin on the Mazagran by using our enhanced cold brew blend, which includes additions like B vitamins, Lion’s Mane and Coffeeberry, giving you even more energy to power you through a hot summer day.

Korean Strawberry Milk Cold Brew
Milk-based drinks are huge in Korea along with many other flavored fruit creams and dessert-like creations such as the dalgona whipped coffee.
Korean Strawberry Milk Cold Brew is another rising trend because of its unique flavor pairing. It combines sweet and milky strawberries with bold and bitter flavors of American cold brew coffee, giving you an oddly refreshing combo that is both exotic and familiar.
The key to making this recipe a success is to cook the strawberries into a thick syrup with chunks of fruit that are small enough to fit through a straw.
We make this recipe with whole milk to stay as close to the original as possible, but feel free to substitute with any milk of choice.
