With the Server Manager console
you have the power to manage any server process
- any application that needs to be run - with respect to
when it runs, why it runs and what runs before and after
it. Essentially, anything you wish to have running on the
server can become a "job". To manage jobs, the
Server Manager uses Subsystems, Job Queues, Job
Priorities and Scheduling. These features form a framework in which you can schedule anything to run on the server at the time you need. It has powerful tracking, logging, notification and restart features that give you control over what happens and will log the application progress in the event of a server failure or shutdown. Example uses of the Server Manager:
