A step by step process to guide the developer through selecting a data base, tables, joins, columns and properties for the creation of data-bound components. Use JDBC direct connect through simple settings. Data-bound components include fields, grids, search panels, result lists, charts, reports and more. The Data Wizard appears automatically when you add a data component to the screen. It is in the Data Wizard that you link data components to the database(s) of your choice and form joins, table selection, etc. All the necessary SQL and server-messaging is produced by JDesignerPro automatically when you have completed the Data Wizard settings for a particular object. JDesignerPro can access any ANSI SQL-compliant database which can be driven by an ODBC or JDBC driver as well as build applications over Novell Deirectory Service (NDS). If you have a native JDBC driver for your database you can avoid using ODBC or ODBC drivers. Compatible and tested Databases include Oracle® 7+, Informix®, Sybase® 10+, MS-SQL Server™ 3+, MS-Access™ 4+, MS-FoxPro™ 3+, IBM DB2® and others. Each screen you build with JDesignerPro can be built over a different database. In fact you can have different databases accessed by separate components on the same screen. The data wizard will define components such as forms, grid, charts, reports, pulldowns, lists and even email merge components. |
