Los Gatos, CA - June 16, 1997 - BulletProof Corporation, a technology leader in Java^TM powered business applications, has released JDesignerPro^TM 2.02, the first shipping application solution with built-in support for Sun Microsystems, Inc.’s JavaBeans^TM, the JDK 1.1 Developers Kit and its JavaStation^TM Network Computer. Written in 100% Pure Java^TM, this unique visual design environment provides a system for building applications in Java with greater ease than previously possible. By using JavaBeans, JDesignerPro now allows developers to manage components and data as objects that are linked by only mouse clicks and very little, if any, coding.

By tightly designing the JavaBeans API into JDesignerPro, the component methods and parameters - the heart of each component - are shown to the developer. This breakthrough means that very little Java coding is necessary to build applications.

BulletProof has reduced the coding to what are called "code snippets" or sections of just a few lines of code. Because the system works at that level, there is no need for a scripting language. Because there is little need to learn the intricacies of Java, Visual Basic and PowerBuilder users can move to Web solutions easily.

Integrated Development and Deployment

JDesignerPro is a complete development and deployment system for JavaBeans-based applications. The system includes a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) tool for Graphical User Interface design. As the front-end is built, it is easily tied to any JDBC or ODBC -compliant database and to server-side processes like business rules. The included middletier, JAGGServer, also handles Access Control, Application Delivery to users, connection scaling and other events.

Developers can start with a set of JavaBeans and the numerous components included with JDesignerPro, and create a business-ready, deployable application in a matter of a few days.
