JDesignerPro 2.1 introduces the Instance Manager^TM and Interaction Manager^TM, which let developers easily import and develop with third-party JavaBeans components. These features are unique to JDesignerPro 2.1 and give IT developers an open, visual system for the creation of Web-based business applications. The Instance Manager and Interaction Manager in JDesignerPro 2.1 are the latest object-oriented features for the Java developer. These visual design functions alleviate most or all of the hand coding necessary with other tools. Because BulletProof has created it from the ground up to be completely object-based, JDesignerPro 2.1 applications can be modified without affecting the whole code base. Components can be removed, changed or tied to a different data base and the tool will handle all code modifications automatically.

The Instance Manager
A unique feature to JDesignerPro 2.1, the Instance Manager is the first system to handle visual use of JavaBeans. BulletProof’s design allows not only JavaBeans but any compatible Java component to be imported. In the Instance Manager, users are able to choose from a list of "constructors" which define the features of the imported component. With a few mouse clicks, JDesignerPro walks the user through the methods and parameters available for the object and creates a live instance of it at design time. This environment is totally WYSIWYG and runs the application modules in real time as development occurs.

The Interaction Manager
Once an instance of an imported object has been created, it can b used with any other JDesignerPro object. Using the Interaction Manager, another feature unique to JDesignerPro 2.1, any object or component can be linked to another and action events can be determined, all visually. By supporting Sun Microsystems, Inc.’s JavaBeans API, JDesignerPro 2.1 applications can be created from almost any component and the complete source code generated instantly. In the past, developers had to manage the interactions between components by hand-coding from scratch and searching through complicated API documents. JDesignerPro 2.1 alleviates that by displaying in a list all the matching methods and parameters for easy selection.
